Funding for the Institute
What
are IND Funding Sources?
How funds are applied
IND is a direct research institute, which
means that funds provided to us are directly used to pay for
researcher salaries and imaging costs associated with the
research performed at our New Haven research center. Our administrative
and fundraising costs have fallen as a percent of total costs
as we have grown, and we anticipate this trend to continue
as our growth allows ust to become more efficient in administering
the institute.
Overall Performance
Our budget for 2004 is $4 million, which
is more than four times the amount we raised in 2001, the
year of our founding as an independent research institution.
This growth as allowed us to pursue the important new research
described elsewhere in 2004
fall spectrum. We could no have come this far without
the critical support from the foundations, governmental organizations,
corporations, and thousands of individuals who have entrusted
us with their time, donations, and goodwill. To all of you
supporters of IND, please accept our sincere thanks.
